    The Role:

    Senior Clinical Pharmacist – Children’s Health Ireland

    Purpose of this role:

    The primary role is to operate as the clinical pharmacist resource for the two Urgent Care Centres in Connolly and Tallaght and to hold a lead role in the development and delivery of clinical and operational pharmacy services to these centres. This will involve clinical pharmacist activities to orientate to the current method of service delivery and provide a platform from which to investigate, trial and implement decentralised pharmacy and automated systems for the UCC’s. 

    One of the initial tasks associated with the role will be to work alongside the CHI Pharmacy Lead and representatives from CHI at Crumlin, Temple Street and Tallaght to help create and maintain a standardised medicines inventory for the Urgent Care Centres along with ensuring all policies, procedures and guidelines for medicines management are up-to-date and where possible, standardised across the CHI.

    Applicants must demonstrate the eligibility criteria listed below:

     Essential criteria:

    • ·         Be currently registered with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland as a qualified pharmacist.
    • ·         Have at least 3 years post-registration hospital experience at pharmacist grade
    • ·         Have the ability to practice safely and effectively fulfilling his/her professional responsibility within his/her scope of practice

    Desirable Criteria:

    • ·         Post graduate clinical qualification
    • ·         Experience working as a clinical pharmacist in a paediatric or neonatal setting
    • ·         Paediatric formulary and/or medicine’s information experience
    • ·         Experience working as a clinical pharmacist in an emergency department setting

    Post Details:

    This post holder will report directly to the Pharmacy Lead, CHI.
