    The Galway Hospice Foundation is noted for the provision of specialist palliative care services to adults and children with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses throughout Galway city and county, and on the adjoining islands.

    Arising from our proposed expansion plans to develop Palliative Care Services in the West of Ireland, the Galway Hospice Foundation is seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our organisation in supporting patients from counties Galway, Mayo and Roscommon with advanced diseases needing palliative care to attain the best quality of life possible.

    Pharmacist  (Locum)

    At Galway Hospice Foundation with immediate effect- Post of Locum Pharmacist

    The experienced Pharmacist shall ensure the provision of a comprehensive medication management service including a clinical pharmacy service, patient medication review, patient education, the provision of medication information to nursing and medical staff, and liaise with primary care providers

    Candidates will:

    • ·         Be a registered Pharmacist with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI).
    • ·         Have at least three years satisfactory post registration experience in a Pharmacy position
    • ·         Experience in a Hospital / Hospice setting is desirable
    • ·         Demonstrate evidence of up-to-date pharmaceutical knowledge.
    • ·         Possess the requisite knowledge and ability for the proper discharge of the duties of the office (as outlined in the job description and specification).
    • ·         Have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • ·         Have experience of providing staff supervision desirable
    • ·         Have IT skills
