    The Royal Victoria Eye and Ear Hospital is a voluntary acute specialist hospital and is the

    national tertiary centre for the treatment of Ophthalmic, Ear, Nose, Throat, Head and Neck disorders. Recognised as a University Teaching Hospital, it has a tradition of care stretching back to 1814 and has looked after patients on its present site since 1904.

    Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the following post:

    Senior Pharmaceutical Technician

    Essential

    a) Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition:

    i) Possess the Pharmaceutical Technicians Diploma awarded by the University of Dublin

    Or

    ii) Possess a Pharmacy Technicians qualification at QQI Level 6 awarded by the Dublin

    Institute of Technology, Athlone Institute of Technology, Letterkenny Institute of Technology or Carlow Institute of Technology

    Or

    iii) Possess the Pharmacy Services Certificate (NVQ 3) offered by the Irish Pharmaceutical

    Union

    Or

    iv) Are currently employed as a Pharmacy Technician in the publicly funded Irish health service

    Or

    v) Possess a relevant qualification at least equivalent to (ii) or (iii) above

    And

    b) Candidates must have at least three years fulltime satisfactory post qualification hospital experience

    (c) Possess the requisite knowledge and ability, (including a high standard of suitability, professional knowledge and ability), for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.

    Desirable:

    Previous experience in aseptic compounding 

    Applications should be submitted in writing, including a detailed Curriculum Vitae (three copies) together with the names and addresses of three referees (one of which should be current) to the Human Resources Department of the Royal Victoria Eye & Ear Hospital, Adelaide Road, Dublin 2 or via email: marie.sweeney@rveeh.ie
