     Applications are invited for the position of Senior Pharmacist  in the Oncology, Haematology and Aseptic Service of the Pharmacy Department, St. Vincent’s University Hospital. The position will be approx. 12 months in duration.

    SVUH Pharmacy Department is committed to the wellbeing and development of all of our team with a focus on work-life balance (30 days per annum annual leave at senior grade, opportunities for reduced working week) and education and research activities.

    Role Summary: To provide effective, efficient and safe pharmaceutical care to all oncology haematology patients under the direction of the Clinical Pharmacy Services Manager and the Aseptic Services Manager. This role will chiefly involve working in aseptic services.  Provision of Haematology-oncology clinical services will form part of this role in addition to working in the aseptic unit. Clinical services may involve rotation in the outpatient day centre as well as to inpatient services. 

    The role will involve the safe provision of aseptically compounded products as well as a role in protocol, policy and procedure development and review.  The senior pharmacist will be expected to become involved in all aspects of the aseptic unit service including technical and clinical duties (within the scope of the service), operational issues, involvement in the ongoing development of the unit’s quality management system including procedures around quality assurance, quality control, clinical trials and compassionate access schemes etc.
