    CLINICAL PHARMACIST

    We at Bon Secours Hospital Limerick at Barringtons, a leading dynamic healthcare facility in the mid-west region are pleased to announce that we are recruiting a Clinical Pharmacist for our elective surgical hospital based in the heart of Limerick City. This is a full time specified purpose position.

    The Clinical Pharmacist will assist in enhancing and maintaining the highest standards within the pharmacy department and contribute to the effective use of all hospital resources and to promote best practice within the pharmacy. 

    Reporting to the Chief Pharmacist, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering clinical pharmacy services ensuring safe and effective care within the pharmacy department.

    The role primarily involves the provision of clinical pharmacy input to the multidisciplinary team, supervision of pharmaceuticals and other related items following hospital guidelines, to monitor and promote effective drug use, ensure consistency with quality standards and participate in the ongoing development and provision of the pharmacy service.

    Hours: 37 hours per week, flexibility around working days and times is an inherent part of this post.

    Requirements for the post:

    • Hold a recognised degree in Pharmacy
    • Be registered in the Register of Pharmacists of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland
    • Previous hospital pharmacy experience is desirable, but not essential
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication and team working skills
    • Must be flexible and have an ability to work on own initiative
    • Conscientious, motivated and committed professional attitude and willing to learn
    • IT proficient
