A two day course of basic clinical skills, aimed at new entrants to the hospital pharmacy discipline will be held May2-3rd 2018.

Note:  You MUST be a hpai member to attend.  Please do not email hpaieducation to join, but sign up using the join us button on the tab. 

The course content will focus on three broad areas: the medical patient, the surgical patient & basic clinical pharmacy review skills.

 Basic clinical pharmacy skills:

- medication review tools

- medicines information

- Prioritisation

- Ongoing education/goal setting

Care of the surgical patient including:

- analgesia, anti-emetics, antibiotic and VTE prophylaxis,  and management of medicines peri-operatively

- Management of the diabetic surgical patient

Care of the medical patient including:

- Anticoagulation

- Care of the Older patient

- Fluid management

- Laboratory monitoring

Course will be a mixture of lectures, shared learning and group discussion

This event is initially only open to Pharmacists who are HPAI members.  It is not aimed towards Pharmacy Interns and Technicians.

Registration will open April 3rd - 20th.
